Bah, subbing has been slow this month. I didn't find work at the school for today, so I stayed home. Lorraine called me and said quite a few people there sent say hi, which makes me happy. At least the people I work for/with like me. :)

I hope I can get a position as a roving sub there. At least then, I'd be guarenteed work everyday.

I slept in, but had wierd ass nightmares, starring the cast of Supernatural, who according to some are dirty, coke-snorting homosexuals. That show obviously owns me now. I did some cleaning too, watched more of season 1 of Supernatural (nightmares be damned!), and played with the kitties. I probably should've done some cooking too...I haven't cooked in a while.

I have to get ready for work at the Chev soonish. I got two pay raises within two weeks! The first was caused by California increasing the rate of minimum wage from $6.75 to $7.50, which is very sensible considering how expensive it is to live out here, and the second was a reward for being with the company for 6 months. I'm now earning a whopping $8 an hour working there. While it may seem trivial to some, to me, it will make things a lot easier. Especially come the summer months, when money will be tight.

I've been trying to break out of some less-than-healthy eating patterns, which is difficult considering I work at a bloody convenience-mart. Right now, lettuce is my best friend, because it's cheap and good. I've also been trying not to be as affected by depression, which is not freaking easy. I get down because I wish I had more time to do things for myself, but when I have the time, I get worse. I handed in an application to volunteer for a local cat rescue at the Petsmart, figuring it would be a good way for me to pass the time and to do something worthwhile for wayward keetoms.

...God, Paula Deen is one cracked out southerner...MORE NIGELLA DAMMIT!!! Her new show is fap-worthy!

I went and spent my $50 Target gift card today. I got it from the Chev for being a good little monkey. I got professional pants and some jewelry, and lemon-peppered chocolate from Europe. It is teh yum+10.

I need to take a bath. My legs have been aching like the deuce. I can't wait for the xmas break for the district. I'll actually be able to have days off, even though I'm still going to be working 5 days a week at the Chev.

[Current Music |DRAMA! ON TNT!!!!!!!!]

I'm happy. Subbing is going great, I'm still making a decent amount of money at the Chev to supplement that, and I get paid next friday for my work at the high school.

I was actually able to buy myself some clothes today. Just a pair of pajama pants with little russian dolls on them and a skirt with elephants and pompoms at the bottom.

Van Helsing is on tv. It still sucks. It's like they were desperately trying to make a Hammer-style film, like in the 50s, but took a wrong turn on Camp street.

Me and Lorraine went to a fucking fantastic grocery store. We spent around 200 bucks between the two of us, and got a TON of food. I got myself granola bars, and some Oregon Chai liquid mix, so I'm content.

In the meantime, I'm exhausted. Work was kinda blah today, but shopping and food made up for it. I still have to do some cleaning tonight, so I need to go eat and get started again.

The Chevron has become a much more pleasant place to work than when I first began. I actually want to keep working there because Misty (the manager) likes me, and has confidence in me. She gave me the spare security keys for this weekend, so I can check the security camera logs on top of doing paperwork. I have a feeling that if I weren't working part-time now, she would've seriously considered me for the position of assitant manager. Meh, subbing pays better anyway.

Working both places is draining, yeah, but at least now I know I'm making enough money to get by, and it won't be as hard to eke out a living.

Thanksgiving was great yesterday. We had a lot of food, good food. I make a mean green bean casserole, not to mention good cranberry sauce. We had three pumpkin pies, so Lorraine sent one home with her brother.

Now I have to figure out what I can make for christmas dinner. -.-

[Current Music |Tremors 2: Mexican Boogaloo]

Sooooo...I'm currently working two jobs. The Chev and my sub job. Having the two jobs is pretty tiring, but, with enough energy drinks, I think I can manage. Subbing is going ok so far. The kids are, how shall I say, special. It makes me cry a little inside when a 16 year old girl doesn't know what the word "profanity" means. Christ, by their age in high school, I had a vocabulary that was at least five times as diverse than theirs. I swear, it's either the parents, or the school system itself that has failed them.

On a happy note, Torchwood, the long awaited Dr. Who spinoff, is fucking FANTASTIC! Oh, Cpt. Jack Harkness. You are such a bisexual dreamboat.

Turkey day is tomorrow...I already hunger for flesh. I made the cranberry sauce, and tomorrow I'm in charge of sweet pataters and the mashers.

A. Pick 10 of your favourite movies.
B. Then pick one of your favourite quotes from each movie.
C. Post the quotes in your journal.
D: Have those on your friends list try to guess what the movie is. Using Google is for wimps.
E: Strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified and place the guesser's username directly after the quote.

I. Alice thought to herself: Now you will see a movie, made for children.

II. It's a bridesmaid's dress. Someone loved it intensely for one day. Then, tossed it... like a Christmas tree. So special, then bam; it's on the side of the road, tinsel still clinging to it, like a sex crime victim, underwear inside out, bound with electrical tape.

III. Time is not important, only life.

IV. Rednecks kicked the shit out of punks, punks kicked the shit out of mods, mods kicked the shit out of skinheads, skinheads took out the heavy metal guys, and the heavy metal guys beat the living shit out of new wavers and new wavers didn't beat the shit out of them because new wavers were the new hippies.

V. It is not the box that calls us, it is...desire.

VI. We gave them Alabama...they gave it right back.

VII.'Lo, there do I see my father.
'Lo, there do I see My mother, and my sisters, and my brothers.
'Lo, there do I see the line of my people...
Back to the beginning.
'Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla...
Where the brave...
May live...
...forever.

VIII. Vacant, with a hint of sadness...like a drunk, who's lost a bet.

IX. I have here a typewriter that's capable of secreting two types of intoxicating fluids. (mugwump jizm for all if you get this one).

X. My art has been commended as being strongly vaginal, which bothers some men. The word itself makes some men uncomfortable. Vagina.

[Current Mood | hopeful]

I got a better job. Finally!

I have my orientation at the high school district office on wednesday. After that, once my sub permit clears, I'll be able to torture the chilluns with my subbing ways.

However, I can't quit the chevron just yet. With the sub job, I would only get paid at the end of november (sad), but it will pay well. Subs earn 30 dollars and 30 cents an hour. So in the meantime, I will work on weekends and afternoons at the chevron, and get small paychecks each week to get by.

I've been kinda lost in the ether for the past 4-5 months. I attribute it to post-traumatic graduation syndrome. Pip kept telling me yesterday that I need to start doing things again. Lately, my life has consisted of work/housework. I get up, spend some time online or on EQ, do some chores,go to work, come home, do some chores, EQ again, and go to sleep. On my days off I tend to sit around the house, trying to figure out what to do with my self, often passed out in front of the tv. I haven't been motivated to do much, because I've been so dazed with work and various responsibilites. Living mostly independently isn't a meadow of bunnies and rainbows, right now anyway.

But now, I have some motivation, like the prospect of a much better job. Me, Pip and Mom recently cleaned out the majority of the house, and that has served as motivation as well. Steam cleaners have a wierd effect like that. Our garage is still disastrous however.

Life is improving slowly.

God, I haven't been online forevah...

yeah, life has a way of doing that. Anyway, things are generally going well. I'm still trying to get my act together with a better job. I'm under a cloud of post-partum depression from school, I will admit. As many complaints as I had about Moore, I still miss it. *shakes fist at it*

Right now I'm living paycheck to paycheck, but still surviving. It's not the most ideal way to live that's for sure. But I have a roof, bed and food, so it's not like I'm in terrible want. I guess I just miss the creature comforts being dependent on parents give.

It gets lonely in california sometimes...so I plan on blowing up the Midwest to bring the East Coast and West Coast closer together, therefore making all rap feuds, current and historical, obsolete.
